FRENCH AND GERMAN WARSHIPS.
Two French battleships and two cruisers reinforce tl\e levant Squad-
ron. The occupation at Syria is mooted in Paris. Four German warships have been suddenly sent to the Levant. The Turkish Embassy tolegraphed Mr Gladstone's speech to the Porte. Tho Eiissian Black Sea fleet has arrived at the mouth of the' Bosphorus. Embassies whose foreign letters may be subject to espionage, are using pigeons to convey despatches.
