Auckland Singer To Establish Scholarships PA AUCKLAND, Dec. 13. Miss Mina Foley, the Auckland singer, who is soon to leave for Italy to continue her studies, has decided to give away the proceeds of her farewell Town Hall concert tonight. The total is expected to be at least £4OO. It will be divided between overseas scholarships to be decided by the Auckland Competitions Society and musical scholarships to be taken out by selected pupils of St. Mary’s College at the college school of music. Migg Foley trained at St. Mary’s College. “ I hope." Miss Foley said today, “ that if there is a competition for any scholarship, it will be given to one who is prepared to work, even if that person has not the best voice, rather than to someone who will sit back."
