Death Of Mr Fraser

The Mayor, Mr M. F. E. Cooney, yesterday sent a telegram to the Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Mr Nash, conveying the sympathy of the citizens of Oamaru in the death of Mr Fraser. A motion of sympathy with Mr Fraser’s relatives was passed at the monthly meeting of the Waitaki High Schools’ Board on Tuesday night. Reference to the death of Mr Fraser was made-at the monthly meeting of the Oamaru RSA on Tuesday night. The president, Mr E. Cameron, said that Mr Fraser had always been sympathetic towards returned servicemen. The Oamaru South School Committee decided on Tuesday night to close the school on the afternoon of Friday, the day of Mr Fraser’s funeral.
