K FORCE AND TAXATION
Sir,—ln making the soldiers for Korea pay income and social security tax the Holland Government has reduced its prestige to a low level indeed. Mr Holland thinks nothing of reducing the rich man’s tax and passing it on to the soldier who is going overseas ot fight. When the Labour Government was in office the, RSA and the 2nd NZEF Association never missed an opportunity to criticise it. Since the election of the National Party to office these bodies have become strangely silent. What a storm of protest would be coming from them if it had been a Labour Government that introduced such a measure. No wonder the membership of the RSA is declining. —I am, etc.. War Pensioner.
