MR PETER FRASER

Sir,—Running true to the pattern of all capitalistic newspapers, you have accepted the death of Mr Peter Fraser as the occasion to write a leading article in which you pour out your very thinly-veiled hatred' of the Labour movement. When the time comes for you or for myself to pass on from this world, I feel sure that if the common people can say of us, “ There passes a great humanitarian who spent his life in the betterment of his fellow-men,” and if we can be so loved by the people, then our life will not have been spent in vain.— I am, etc.. Rags.

[His life was " one of great achievement he has “ earned the honour that is due the reformer “he wai a vigorous, intelligent and cultured personality Labour’s “ contribution to a humanitarian and social outlook has been great." We do not consider this the language of denigration.—Ed. ODT.]
