TON OF CEMENT STOLEN
PA AUCKLAND, Dec. 11. For stealing a ton of cement worth £9 16s 7d from the Residential Construction Company at Tamaki, Clarence Payne, aged 23, a driver, was today fined £2O with costs, in default six weeks’ imprisonment by Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M. The police said that Payne took his own firm’s truck to where the cement was stored, loaded the bags and drove away just as a nightwatchman approached.
