Work Of Athletic Coaches
The Otago Track and Field Athletic Coaching Panel is at present conducting a series of lectures and demonstrations in all branches of track and field events. The lectures have been well attended to date and within the next two weeks many local athletes will be sitting examinations for their coaching badges. Last Saturday, a partv of six panel coaches journeyed to Alexandra under the leadership of Mr S. R. Dawson, to consolidate the training which was initiated there last year. The progress they noted was a tribute to the enthusiasm of those handling the affairs of this small club which, by its comparative isolation from outside competition, is at a great disadvantage. Even at this early stage it is apparent that Alexandra athletes will figure prominently in the provincial championshios which take place in Dunedin on February 10 and 17. The next visit o f nanel coaches will be to Balelutha today. Several other similar trips have been arranged
