Christmas Parties
The members of the Caversham Croquet Club held their annual Christmas party last Saturday. Mrs Homer presided at afternoon tea Competitions were held during the afternoon, the prizewinners being Mesdames Melville, Byers, Orr, Kempthorne and Miss Alexander. A Christmas party arranged by the North Dunedin Women’s Section of the National Party was held last week. The guests included Messrs E. J. Smith, Dominion councillor: J. G. Henderson, divisional chairman; R. S. MacKenzie. electorate chairman; and their wives, and Mr A. C. Laing, divisional secretary. They were welcomed by Mrs A. Middleton. chairman of the Women’s Section. The programme consisted of games, competitions, dancing, carol singing, a mock court, and items presented by Misses S. Lawrence and M. Ufton, N. O’Kane and Mr E. Snow, and a visit from “ Father Christmas.” Miss G. Dunn was the ancompanist.
