CRATES ON FIRE
At 8.32 a.m. yesterday, the Metropolitan Fire Brigade answered a justifiable false alarm from the railway yards. At 10.4 a.m., the brigade was called to McLeod’s soapworks, where a fire had broken out among some crates containing sulphuric acid jars. Damage was done to a few of the crates and their contents.
