In contrast to the mild weather early last week, nigh winds have been blowing in Dunedin since Saturday. This picture shows the sea lashing the wall of the St. Clair Esplanade. Portions of the footpath have subsided, leaving fairly large holes, and sand has also seeped out from underneath the wall itself. The holes in the footpath are being filled in, and although the wall is not in danger so far, t e city engineer’s staff is watching the situation carefully.
