London Wool Sales NZPA—Copyright Rec. 7 p.m. LONDON. Dec. 9. At the final auction of the sixth series of the. London wool sales all offerings, totalling 10,847 bales, were cleared. New Zealand submitted 2813 bales. The market closed strong, with advances of up-to 5 per cent, over yesterday, in a very active demand from the home trade and Europe. A record of 275 d was paid for speciality carding .fleece from Brisbane. Throughout the series, a total of 82,800 bales were offered of which 81,400 were sold. The home trade bought 48,800 bales, the Continent 30,600, and the United States 2000. Compared with the closing prices of t)ie last series, greasy merinos, comebacks '•and fine crossbreds were from 2i to 5 per cent, higher. Scoureds were up to 10 per cent, and greasy crossbreds 5 to 10 per cent, dearer.
