ALL-ROUND INCREASE
Wheat For Certification
The weather has been fine during the week with some warm north-east winds which have a drying effect on pastures. A further shower of rain would be beneficial.
Wheat and oat crops benefited by recent rain. The area of seed entered for certification in North Otago will all show an all-round increase on last season. The popularity of Montgomery red clover for seed purposes is not so great, because of the indifferent overseas market experienced during recent seasons. As a consequence there will be less seed saved this coming harvest. The markets generally are quiet with very little overseas demand.
