The Deputy Mayor, Cr Wright, left for Wellington yesterday. He will return to Dunedin on Friday. All members of the executive were re-elected at the annual meeting of the Otago Automobile Association last night. Sir Donald Cameron was again elected patron of the association. Reference to the death of Mr R. Longton Jones, an early member, who had done much for motoring in the province, was made at the annual meeting of the Otago Automobile Association last night, members standing in silence. Professor D. C. H. Florance, professor of chemistry at Victoria University College, has been nominated by the Royal Society of New Zealand as a member of the Selection Committee for the award of the Mechaelis Prize. Mr J. Begg has been nominated by the New Zealand Astronomical Society and Dr R. R. Nimmo has been appointed convener of the committee as nominee of the University of Otago.
