SECURITY MEASURES
Police Check On Communist Party Members PA AUCKLAND, Sept. 26. “It is known that the police have been compiling dossiers on members of the Communist Party in New Zealand, and that security measures are being tightened,” stated a letter from the Dominion Executive Committee of the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association to the branch in Auckland. The executive was commenting on a resolution passed by the Auckland branch last month that the Communist Party should be outlawed. “This committee is satisfied,” the letter added, “ that if the Government considers action should be taken it will act. Great Britain has not yet taken steps to outlaw the Communist Party, and we can only assume it will not do so until the party’s activities become openly dangerous or war is officially declared.
