FEMININE GUILE
Thefts By Telephone Girls BRASSIERES USED AS CACHES Rec. 9 p.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 25. The Southern Bell Telephone Company, of Miami, has lost at least 100,000 dollars in two years to young women employees who took rolls of coins out of the counting room in their brassieres. The police reported today that six young women, their families, husbands and boy friends—ls persons in all—are under arrest. The police have recovered nearly 10,000 dollars.
Two girls admitted that they each took as much as 150 dollars on some days. Others admitted taking lesser amounts.
All the thefts were from the counting room, where a torrent of silver came each day from public coin telephones. How much the total loss would amount to over a period of years is not known. The police checked back for only two years.
