THEFT ALLEGED
Two Young Men Charged
Edward Cabral, aged 19, a moulder, for whom Mr W. McAlevey appeared, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday with the theft of 13s 2d in money. The case was adjourned by consent until Monday, bail being allowed in his own recognisance of £25 with one surety of £25. Mr J. D. Willis, S.M., refused to accede to counsel’s request that publication of the accused’s name should be suppressed. The charge against Gerald Donald Urquhart, aged 20, a labourer, of the theft of a sum of money amounting to about £lO, was also adjourned until Monday. The accused did not make an application for bail. , Chief Detective Hall appeared for the police in both cases.
