Homing Pigeons
Inclement weather prevailed for the Oamaru Homing Pigeon Club s race from Clarence Bridge to Oamaru on Saturday. Fifty birds from nine lofts were liberated by Mr J. E. Towne at 8 a.m., and the first three birds arrived, almost together, at 4.30 p.m. Two further birds were clocked in at 5.40 p.m. .. , The results were: R. C. Wattereus s Black Chief 1, C. B. Butchers Hopper 2 Mahan Bros.’ Colleen 3, D. Mcßride s Tamar Queen 4, A. Macraes Helena 5
