MILTON
POULTRY SHOW The fourth annual show of the Milton Poultry Club was held in St. John’s HaU on Friday and Saturday. Excellent entries were received, and the birds were in first-class show condition. Exhibits were forwarded from fanciers in Christchurch, Ashburton, Dunedin, Owaka, Gore, and Invercargill, in addition to a larger number of local entries. Results:— South Island Championships Silver Wyandotte, standard class: A. E. Hoare (Invercargill). Utility Ancona: T. Clayton (Milton). Old English Game bantam, black, red or light red: A. C. Norrish (Owaka). Homer pigeon, most likely flyer, young bird, frilled pigeon: P. and A. Fraser (Dunedin). Frill pigeon: J. H. Fahey (Dunedin). Yorkshire canary, cinnamon or green, flighted, open: G. Cooper (Dunedin). Any other colour budgerigar, open: S. Illingworth (Milton). New Zealand Championships Utility Black Orpington: T. G. Quaid (Ashburton). Utility Wyandotte: E. H. Griffen (Christchurch). Tumbler pigeon, other than self colour or bald head: F. W. Archbold (Christchurch). Buff Norwich canary, flighted class: W Herbert (Dunedin). Special Cups Club cup for most points in poultry classes: D Tweedie (Milton). Keen Cup, for best utility bird in show: T. Lockhart (Moneymore). Coombes Cup. for best opposite sex: T. Lockhart. Burn Cup, for White Leghorn (local exhibitor): W. Keen (Milton)
