Past Patron Honoured
There was a large attendance of members and friends of the Oamaru Drama Club when a farewell social was held in honour of Mrs A. H. Nordmeyer, who is leaving Oamaru to take up residence in Wellington. Mr L. Howell, vice-president, was in the chair, and in making a presentation of a week-end bag, he thanked Mrs Nordmeyer for her services to the club. Mrs W. Kennedy, in giving a brief survey of Mrs Nordmeyer's work, said she had been primarily responsible for the formation of the club, of which she was a past patron. Mr J. C. Kirkness, patron of the club, wished Mrs Nordmeyer well in her new sphere. Items were contributed by Miss S. Armstrong, Messrs R. Domigan and Hood. Mrs Souness and Mr D. Swann provided the evening’s music.
