FESTIVAL CONCLUDES
There was a fair attendance at the concluding night of the annual Green Island Competitions festival last night. A special prize for the most promising singer between 10 and 13 years was won by Yvonne Connor. The adjudicators were Mr James Clark (vocal) and Miss Molly Randle (recitation). The Mayor. Mr J Boomer, was in the chair.
Results:— Humorous Recitation.—Girls 13 and under 16 years: E. Smith 1, F. Wright 2. D. Peterson 3. Character Sketch.—Thirteen and under 16 years: E. Smith 1. Ten and under 13 years: K. Ayshford 1. S. Craig 2, C. Munro 3. Recitation.— Girls 13 and under 16 years: E. Smith 1, L. Potbury 2, D. Peterson 3 Sacred Solo. —Sixteen and under 20 years: N. McMullan 1, I. Mason 2, B Kennedy 3. Fifteen and under 17 yeara. - C. Hammer 1, D. Peterson 2, D. Hay & Vocal Solo (own accompaniment).—N McMullan 1. I. McMaster 2. Vocal Duet in Character.—Eleven and under 14 years: C. Conley and G. Wilson 1, M. Potbury and R. Montgomery 2, M. L. Jory and G. Tyler 3.
