FARMER’S SERIOUS LOSS
Sheep Wounded By .303 Bullets PA -WELLINGTON, May 15. A Normandale farmer, Mr D. E. Cooper, lost seven sheep yesterday from .303 bullet wounds. He heard a large number of shots fired near his home yesterday afternoon, but presumed that someone was rabbit shooting. Two young women later informed him that they had seen two men armed with rifles shooting at sheep. Mr Cooper then made a round of his farm and found seven sheep either dead or dying from .303 bullet wounds. There had been no attempt to remove the carcasses. The Lower Hutt police are investigating the matter.
