Aid For Threatened Areas AFL RECOMMENDATIONS NZPA—Copyright Rec. 11 p.m. NEW YORK, May 11. The American Federation of Labour declared today that the United States should accept Germany as a sovereign State into the community of free nations. The union's executive council stated that Germany’s admission was necessary foi* the decisive defeat of all Communist attempts to take over Western Germany. Among the union’s recommendations were: 1. Immediate economic and military assistance to safeguard Formosa against being over-run by Chinese Communist usurpers equipped with Russian weapons and commanded by Kremlin commissars. 2. Independence for French IndoChina and adequate military aid by the United States to smash Moscow-con-trolled ariped bands fighting to force Indo-China into the slave orbit of Russian Imperialism. 3. The establishment of an interfjational economic commission on which the free peoples of Europe and Asia shall be represented, and which shall be charged with the task of facilitating expanded trade among them, and with the view to making available more raw materials for Western Europe and more Western European manufactured goods for the free nations.
