RARE SHORTAGE
Water In The South PA INVERCARGILL, May 11. As a result of an unusually long period of dry, sunny weather, some householders living just outside the Invercargill city boundary, particularly at Grasmere, have found themselves in a plight seldom experienced in the history of Invercargill—a shortage of water. Many residents have been compelled to cart water to fill their tanks. Two or three brief showers have fallen in the last three weeks, but these have had almost a negligible effect on water supplies for many rural households.
