OBITUARY
Mr C. J. Maddren Mr Charles Jbhns Maddren, who died in Dunedin during the week, had been associated with the newspaper and printing business for about oO years, for the past 15 of which he was a member of the Evening Stars reading staff. Mr Maddren started work as a compositor with the Christchurch Press, and was foreman of the job printing department for inany years. For about two years and ahalf during the second world war, he acted as the manager of the Evening Star job printing department. He was a member of St. Matthew s Church. Dunedin, for many years. He is survived by his widow, two sons and a daughter.
