FOUR-YEAR SEASON ENDS
“ The Kiwis ” Leaving Australia NZPA—Copyright BRISBANE, May 10. The New Zealand Divisional concert party, “ The Kiwis,” finished their extraordinary Australian season last night with a show at Toowoomba. They came to Australia in 1946. hoping to play for a few months, and stayed for over four years. This record, which is unique in Australian theatrical history, included a continuous season of over two years in Melbourne, with only three changes of programme. The company will leave Sydney next week for a tour of New Zealand, after which a return season in Australia and tours of Canada, South Africa, and perhaps England are planned. The star female impersonator and dancer, John Hunter, will not return to New Zealand, as he is going to London to study ballet and dramatic art.
