“CHEAPER AND BETTER ”
Proposed Australian Health Scheme CLAIM BY MINISTER NZPA—Copyright SYDNEY, May 10. Addressing the Sydney University Medical Society, the Minister of Health, Sir Earle Page, said the Federal Government’s proposed national health scheme would be cheaper and better than those of England and New Zealand. The systeam of voluntary insurance would be less rigid than a Government-con-trolled scheme. Chaos in medical practice and in the whole health service had occurred in New Zealand and England, where both Governments had attempted to take on too much too quickly. They had done this without preparation and without consulting the medical profession.
