DUNEDIN NOT AFFECTED
“ Christchurch is facing a problem which has not arisen in Dunedin,” a city baker told the Daily Times last night when the above case was referred to him. “There they have people called vendors who buy their bread from a bakehouse at the wholesale rate and then sell it at the delivery price,” he said. There was a reasonable margin of profit at the former price but any addition to the new price would bring the cost of a delivered loaf to approximately Is 6d.
