VALUABLE RELICS
Tobermory Bay Galleon DUKE OF ARGYLL SATISFIED NZPA Special Correspondent Rec. 7 p.m. LONDON, May 10. The Duke of Argyll, who owns the rights to any treasure recovered from the sunken Spanish galleon located in Tobermory Bay, Island of Mull, has issued a statement that he is entirely satisfied with the results obtained by the Royal Naval salvage party which located the galleon. The Duke said that whatever the cargo or contents of the sunken vessel its recovery in whole or in part would provide valuable physical relics of a phase of English history as critical as any country had ever lived through. With the location of the galleon, the Royal Navy has now completed its part of the opera’ions, and the-Duke will make other arrangements to recover parts of the vessel and any cargo of treasure that may be on board her.
