Death Of America’s Oldest Confederate Veteran
AP—NZPA—Copyright Rec. 7 p.m. NEW YORK May 9 The nation’s oldest Confederate veteran. John Thomas Graves, died at Higginsville, Missouri, today at the age of 108. He was an inmate of the Confederate Veterans’ Home, which once housed 325 of his comrades. Graves fed himself, smoked a pipe, and chewed tobacco until he became ill l" days ago.
