GREATLY APPRECIATED
Offers Of Co-operation NEW ADMINISTRATION PA WELLINGTON, May 11. The Prime Minister, Mr Holland, told the New Zealand Institute of Administration, when he opened its convention tonight, that since his Government had been in office the country had been remarkably free of industrial trouble. “So far we have staved off industrial trouble,” said Mr Holland, “ and long may this condition continue ”
Among the host oi people who had come to the Government and offered to co-operate in the interests of the country as a whole were people known as “ militants,” said the Prime Minister. Their action was very much apnreciated. The Government and people, he said, owed a great debt to those who had come to the Government and said, “ We’ll co-operate with you and see that the administration of the country is run smoothly.” Mr Holland added: “We’ve been on the brink once or twice, but have been able to enjoy a very substantial degree of industrial peace. I want to say to employers’ and workers’ representatives that, inexperienced in these matters as the new Government may yet be, it is good to know that in the handling of them and the carrying out of its policy the Government has enjoyed a spirit of cooperation from all. For that we are very grateful.”
