WORK RESUMED

Cement Cargo At Auckland TRIBUNAL TO BE SET UP PA AUCKLAND, May 10. The Auckland watersiders agreed today to resume work on the King Neptune but rain, which halted waterfront work this morning, has prevented them from continuing discharge of the ship’s cement cargo. They declared the ship “ black ” yesterday because of a dispute on the size of the gangs. The decision to resume is the result of action taken by the Minister of Labour, Mr Sullivan, in Wellington last night to appoint a tribunal to consider the union’s claims. The unionists, at a stop-work meeting this morning, overwhelmingly endorsed the executive’s recommendation to continue work pending the tribunal’s decision. , . The tribunal, which will sit in Wellington, will, it is understood, comprise a judge as chairman, a representative of the Waterfront Industry Commission, and one of the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Unmn. The union has nominated Mr T. Hill, its national secretary, as its representative. The national president. Mr H. Barnes, will be the union’s advocate. The dispute had stopped work on the King Neptune four times since last Thursday
