WAIPIATA’S CARGO
Special Correspondent WELLINGTON, May 10. Plans are being made to sink a large quantity of unsalvable South Island cargo from the Waipiata. It will probably be sunk outside Wellington Heads in the hulk of the old barque Lutterworth, which the Union Steam Ship Company has used as a coal hulk for the past 44 years. Estimates of the cargo loss involved in the Waipiata accident have not yet been recorded.
