Otago Ladies’ Club.—The yearly LGU Medal Match for the Coronation Medal and Aotea-roa Cup was played on the Otago links on Tuesday. The following were the best scores returned:—A Grade: Mrs T. L. Gibson 90—16—74, Miss Elliott 86—8—78, Miss Hindle 91—13—78, Mrs Lawless 89—9—80. B Grade; Mrs Gilkison 105—25—30. Mrs Blair 102—21—81, Mrs Daglish 110—29—81, Mrs Duncan 106—24 —B2. The week-end section will compete in this match on Saturday morning. St. Clair Ladies' Club.—The following were the best cards returned in the match played on the Corstorphine links on Tuesday:—A Grade: Miss B. Clarke 84—12 72, Mrs E. Lucas 90—12—78, Mrs H. Wooding 90—9—81. B Grade: Mrs A. Timms 98—27—71, Mrs S. Crimp 98—24—74, Mrs J. Day 105 —30—75. Miss B. Clarke reduced her handicap by one stroke and Mrs Timms by two strokes. Belleknowes Ladies’ Club.— I The following were the results of the home links Coronation Medal Match played yesterday:—Mrs Pitts 82—17—65, Mrs Dunn 84— 17—67, Mrs McCausland 80—12—68, Mrs Hasell 86—18—68. The results of the Aotea-roa Cup were: ‘Mrs Phillips 86— 21—65, Mrs McLean 88—22—66. Chisholm Park Club.—On Tuesday the ■mid-week section of the Chisholm Park Ladies' Golf Club played an LGU Match. The best scores returned were: Mrs G. W. Hayes 88—14—74, Mrs G. Brooks 102— 28—74, Mrs E. Keen 110—35—75, Mrs D. K. Knowles 96—21—75, Mrs A. J. Simmonds 99—23—76. Mrs J. F. Barron 97 20—77. Next Tuesday a one-club match will be played and an All Prize Day.

New Zealand ranks fourth equal with Switzerland in the number of telephones per hundred of population. Percentages are:—USA, 26.1; Sweden, 22.1; Canada, 18.8; New Zealand and Switzerland, 17.2.
