MOTORISTS’ VIEW
Rationing Should End “The thing that annoys me is that the Goveernment never tells us the real reason behind the retention of rationing,” remarked Mr D. Forsyth * when the question of petrol rationing was mentioned at last night’s meeting of the Otago Automobile Association executive. “ Motorists are not children, and if they would take us into their confidence with these things and give us the full facts we would be much happier to co-operate.” The discussion had been prompted by a Press Association message concerning the commenst of the Invercargill president. It was decided to ask the Government to lift rationing at the end of the current period on the grounds that less petrol was used when rationing was lifted for a short period after the war. that rationing had been lifted in Australia, and that stealing petrol had 'heen offered to New Zealand.
