OTAGO SYMPATHY
Turin Football Team Tragedy WORLD-WIDE EXPRESSION Otago Association football players will take part in a world-wide expression of sympathy when they staria in silence for a moment before the second spell of matches played next Saturday. The players will be respecting the memory of 18 members of the Turin football team and officials who lost their lives when their plane crashed while returning from Portugal on May 4, 1949. The' world-wide commemoration of the tragedy was requested by the Federation Internationale de Football Associations. Otago players will stand in silence by the decision of the association's Management Committee at its meeting this week.
