Mr A. F. O. Clarke, who has been deputy registrar of the Supreme Court at Dunedin for the past 16 months, has been transferred to Invercargill, where he will carry out the duties of deputy registrar of both the Supreme and Magistate's Courts. Mr and Mrs Clarke will leave Dunedin at the week-end. Mr K. A. Williams, of Rangitikei, was elected president of the New Zealand Catchment Boards’ Association at the annual conference at Invercargill yesterday. He succeeded Mr W. Machin, of North Canterbury, who did not seek re-election. Mr L. J. T. Ireland, of Dunedin, was elected vicepresident. The executive of the Otago Council of Sport decided at its meeting last night to write to Mr J. C. Kirkland (Southland), asking him if he would accept nomination as president of the New Zealand Council for a second term. If Mr Kirkland does not stand the Otago Council will nominate its president. Mr C. J. L. White, for the office. The annual meeting is to be held at Wellington in July.
