NOVEMBER ELECTION
Pressure From Labour Left Wingers NZPA—Reuter—Copyright LONDON, May 8. One plan that it is expected will ,be discussed by the Socialist leaders at a secret conference at Dorking, Surrey, next week-end is that Parliament should be adjourned for the summer recess at the end of July, reassembled in October, and dissolved soon afterwards for a November election. The Left Wingers, headed by the Health Minister, Mr Aneurin Bevan, are understood to be pressing for an early election in the belief that in its present precarious position Labour, is constantly losing prestige. Party leaders today sounded a stern warning to members to be ready, to meet fresh attempts by the Conservatives to defeat the Government this week. The danger spot is Wednesday, when the Conservatives will put forward a series of motions against Government orders increasing railway charges.
