Widespread Storms
In United States Rec. 10 p.m. NEW YORK. May % Violent squalls lashed the northeastern coast today and left a toll .of at least 20 dead or missing. The storm extended from the States of New York to New England. Ten people were drowned when scores of small boats capsized in rivers and Jakes, and .sea police and coastguard cutters rescued over 70 people struggling in the water. Storms in other parts of the United States caused the,deaths of 12, bringing the weather death roll to at least 22.
