District Representatives Elected TRIBUTE TO LEADER PA AUCKLAND, May 8. The results of the elections for 12 divisional area representatives on the National Executive of the Labour Party were announced to the conference today. The sitting member in the Auckland area, Mr R. F. Barter, president of the local Labour Representation Committee, was re-elected. Other results were: Messrs A. Hellyn, Whangarei (unopposed); A. E. Armstrong, M.P., Napier; E. A. Waters, Hamilton (unopposed); W. J. Rogers, M.L.C., Wanganui; G. A. Hansen, Mana-watu-Wairarapa; W. T. Johansen, Wellington (unopposed), S. Gladstone, Greymouth (unopposed); E. A. Sharp, North Canterbury; P. H. Weith, Timaru; F. Jones, M.P., Otago; and L. L r - Lynch, Southland. As Mr Sharp has died since the ballot was held, another election will be held in North Canterbury after the conference.

Tributes to the work of the former Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, were paid by the president of the New Zealand Labour Party in addressing the annual conference. He said that during the most difficult period in New Zealand’s history, Mr Fraser and his team had not only complemented the policy of the party as laid down by the conference, but had conducted the war Administration with credit to Labour and New Zealand. Mr Fraser’s leadership in internal affairs had never been equalled. He had been able to overcome all difficulties by his tact, patience and ability.
