Syrian Cabinet Resigns
Rec. 11 p.m. DAMASCUS, May 8. The Syrian Cabinet, led by the Prime Minister, Khaled El Azem Bey, resigned today following a crisis over the resignation on April 28 of the Defence Minister, Attram Hourani. Azem formed the present Coalition Cabinet last December after Syria’s third military coup in nine months. Political sources here expect a postponement of the meeting on Wednesday of the Arab League Political Committee unless a new Cabinet is formed within 48 hours.
