INQUEST OPENED
An inquest into the death of Takene Tipene, known as Duncan Armstead, who was fatally injured at the Oamaru Station on Saturday, was held yesterday morning before Mr H. C. Jeffery. J.F. Hoani Te Mameru, a cousin of the deceased. gave evidence of identification and stated that when he last saw Tipene a month ago he was in good health and quite an active man for his age (70 years). The inquest was adjourned sine die until the medical evidence had been completed.
