INCREASED LICENCES
Several Lines Affected A 10 per cent, increase in licences for the importation from Australia of currants, excluding retail packages, and a 30 per cent, increase for raisins, excluding retail packages, compared with last year, has been granted by the Government, according to information received from the Comptroller of Customs by the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce. Applications for licences to import muscatels from Australia and dried fruit vine from South Africa will be considered if they are supported by evidence of availability, and applications for licences to import underfelt will be considered if they are supported by evidence that the goods can be landed in New Zealand before July 31. The licences issued for the 1949 period have now expired.
