Mrs S. J. Harrison, St. Clair, is spending the school holidays at Naseby. Women graduates will be entertained to afternoon tea in Alien Hall today by the Dunedin branch of the Federation of British University Women. The St. Clair Croquet Club held its closing day last week. Members were the guests of the president, Mrs A. Newall. at afternoon tea, and the trophies won during the year were presented. Miss Marian Bell, of Rewa street, will leave Dunedin next Tuesday to join the Rangitata. Miss Bell, who was " capped ” at the degree ceremony yesterday, is going to Edinburgh to take the post-graduate diploma in social studies. Miss Joan Watts, of London, will arrive in Dunedin tomorrow to conduct examinations for the Royal Academy of Dancing. Miss Watts will be the guest of honour at a morning tea party on Thursday, given by Miss Lily Stevens. Mrs A. J. Haub, who is leaving today to take up residence in New Plymouth, was entertained yesterday by the committee of the Dunedin branch of the Union of Townswomen’s Guilds at the Pioneer Women's Memorial Rooms, and a presentation was made to her. The Rangi-Ruru Old Girls’ Association (Dunedin branch) held its annual meeting at the home of Mrs D. A. Russell. High street. Greetings were conveyed from Miss Ethel Gibson and the president of the association in Christchurch. Mrs D. A. Dick was re-elected president, and Mrs H. A. Stevely vice-president. Miss F. Coates was appointed secretary, and committee members elected were Mrs John Carswell and Misses D. Watson and J. Allen Mesdames T. J. McCarten and W. Jones, assisted by Mesdames Coughlan. Vaughan and Allen, were joint hostesses at an afternoon tea party held at the Catholic Youth Centre on Wednesday afternoon. The guests, who numbered over 100, heard an enjoyable programme of sones and recitations given by Mrs Avas McFarlane, Mrs Bruce Jones. Miss Dorothy Dowling, Miss E. Spellman and Miss R. Delahunty. Mrs A. J. Dowling was the accompanist.
