GRADUATES’ LUNCH

Function At Home Science School The Home Science School had a festive air yesterday, when home science graduates and their parents, together with distinguished guests, were entertained at a luncheon party. All the preparations, including the decorating of rooms and tables with bowls of autumn flowers and berries, and the cooking and serving of the lunch, were undertaken by the home science students. Dr Gregory, dean of the home science faculty, welcomed the guests, and the members of the staff, and Dr R. S. Aitken, the vice-chancellor, also spoke in welcome and in appreciation of the function.

The graduates present were Miss McNab. Miss Murray (M.H.Sc.), Misses Battersby, Doggart, Domigan, Gunn, Holland, Mathewson, Mrs Mason and Mrs White (B.H.Sc.), Mrs Bierre, Misses Chapman, Coles, Cook, Dempsey, Fowler, Hurdsfield, Jefferies, McAloon, Macdonald, Mackay, Robertson, Nelson Smith and Lange (Dip.H.Sc.). Amongst the other guests were: The vice-chancellor and Mrs Aitken, Dr H. R. Hulme (orator for the graduation cere-' mony) and Mrs Hulme, Sir Charles and Lady Hercus, Dr and Mrs Soper, Dr and Mrs Benson, Professor and Dr Marples, Mr and Mrs Partridge, Mr and Mrs Chapman, Mr and Mrs Hayward, Miss Stevenson, Dr Marion Whyte, Miss Aitken (president of the New Zealand Home Science Alumnae Association). Miss V. Barron (pres.dent of the New Zealand Federation of University Women), Mrs McNeill (president of the Dunedin branch of the Federation of University Women), Miss Brenda Be]], Mrs R.
