TRADITIONAL FORM

Capping Book On Sale Today This year’s Capping Book should inspire some hearty chuckles when it appears on the streets this morning. The purveyors of the publication will doubtless gain as much amusement from hawking their ware as the public in reading it. The book is in the traditional form, liberally sprinkled with pithy snippets, and apt if not dignified quotations such as, “ It’s not the night out that counts; it’s the daze after.” Advertisements and cartoons occupy their usual prominent place, but it seems unfortunate that artists outside the University have had to be called upon to such a great extent. These, however, have produced work in the traditional spirit of capping. The book will this year be sold for Is 6d, and the revenue from the sale of the 15,000 published will be given to the Otago Tuberculosis Association.
