ANOTHER INCREASE

Ail Classes Of Crossbreds WANGANUI WOOL SALE PA WANGANUI, May 8. Prices for all classes of crossbred wool showed an increase at the fifth and final Wanganui wool sale of the current season, held today. A catalogue of 9724 bales of growers’ wool was submitted to a full and representative bench of buyers, and apart from this wool 4569 bales of Joint Organisation stock wool were offered. “ Competition was keen, with Continental buyers dominating the' market,” states the official report issued by brokers. “ Prices showed an increase for all classes of crossbred wool, the realisations showing a hardening tendency in sympathy with recent sales held in the Dominion. The increase in crossbred wool values was about 20 to 25 per cent, above the prices ruling at the last auction held in Wanganui in March. The offering comprised wools drawn from Wanganui, Taranaki, Rangitikei and King Country districts and consisted mostly of binned wools, the bulk of the main clips being disposed of at the earlier sales of the season. A large quantity of oddments, bellies, pieces, etc., was included in the offering.” The range of prices is:—
