DEATH IN HOSPITAL
Sequel To u Incident ” PA GISBORNE, May 7. As a result of an incident in a house in Tokomaru Bay in the early hours of Saturday morning, one man died in hospital and another was admitted to hospital with a broken jaw and was later discharged after treatment. The dead man is Dyke Pewharangi, aged 36, of Tokomaru Bay, and the injured man is Donald McMillan, jun., aged 25. Called to the home of Whai Tawhara at Tokomaru Bay at 4.45 a.m. on Saturday, Constable Forsey found evidence of a light, and, as a result McMillan was removed to Te Puia Hospital suffering from a broken jaw. He was later discharged. Pewharangi, who had also been at Tawhara’s house, was admitted to hospital in. an unconscious condition, and he died at 1.30 a.m. today without regaining consciousness.
