KILLED BY TRAIN
Accident At Railway Station Special to the Daily Times OAMARU, May 7. Multiple injuries, from which he died a few minutes later, were received by Takene Tipene, also known as Duncan Hampstead, a Maori, aged 70 years, of Moeraki, at the Oamaru railway station at 5.45 p.m. on Saturday. , . Tipene slipped when attempting to board the Oamaru-Dunedin special race train as it was pulling out of the station. He fell between the platform and the tram, and was dragged 42 feet before the train could. be stopped. When a doctor arrived a few minutes later Tipene was dead. ; ,
