French Traitor Bequeaths Eyes To A Blind Man
NZPA—Reuter —Copyright Rec. 6.40 p.m. PARIS, May 5. ' Half an hour before Maurice Bay was shot as a traitor for serving in the Gestapo he bequeathed his eyes to a blind man. “Fire at my heart instead of my head (as is usual) so t'iiat my eyes are not injured,” he told tflie firing squad Bay’s eyes were afterwards removed by a hospital surgeon 1 who will today graft the cornea to a patient who will never know whose eyes they were.
