WOMEN’S BASKETBALL The second matches in the first round of the North Otago Basketball Association’s competition were played on Saturday, and resulted:— Senior.—Totara 24, Old Girls 13; Waitaki A 24, Waitaki B 12; CYM 12, Maheno 1; Star 10, Wesley 6; United 15, Nurses 6. B Grade—Section I: Waitaki C 19. Waitaki D 4; Kakanui 15, CYM 6; The Dee’s 21, Old Girls 11. Section II: Totara beat Star by default; Maheno 9, St. Thomas's 3. ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL The first matches in the 1950 Association football competitions were played on Saturday, and resulted:—Senior: Oamaru 5, Awamoa 1. Junior: Awamoa 4, Eveline 1 Schoolboys: Awamoa 2, Eveline 1 MEN’S GOLF The North Otago Men’s Golf Club commenced the first round of its knock-out competition on Saturday. For those not participating, a- Bogey Match was played, and resulted: —H. Dyson 1 down, J. I. McEwan 3 down, A. B. Lane 5 down. WOMEN’S HOCKEY The first matches in the North Otago Women's Hockey Association’s competitions were played on Saturday, and resulted: —Pirata Blue 6, Duntroon 2; Waimate 15. Pirata Wh te nil.
